Getting started
How do I sign in?
Enter your email, and we'll send you a one-time code. Type the code on the next screen and you're in. There's no password to remember.
My sign-in code didn't arrive.
Give it a minute, then tap "Resend code" on the code screen. Check your spam folder. If it still doesn't show, email support@thefairways.app and we'll sort it out.
Ranking courses
How does ranking work?
You don't score a course out of 10. You pick a tier (Loved it, It was fine, or Didn't love it), then compare the course head-to-head against others you've played. Your rating falls out of where it lands. People are better at comparing than at scoring, so this gives you a list you actually trust.
Can I change a rating later?
Yes. Re-rank a course anytime and your list updates. There is one entry per course, so playing somewhere again updates your existing entry rather than adding a duplicate.
Your profile
Public or private?
You choose. A private profile hides your entries from people who don't follow you, and your ratings stop counting toward community averages. Switch anytime in Edit Profile.
What's a home course?
The course you play most: your club, your muni, or wherever you tee it up. It shows on your profile and powers the Clubhouse feed of others who play there. It's optional.
Following and the community
How do I find golfers to follow?
Use the Discover tab to search by name, or browse Featured golfers. Following is one-directional, like Instagram or Letterboxd. Public profiles are followed instantly; private ones approve requests.
Safety and moderation
How do I report something?
Tap the menu on any photo, profile, or note and choose Report. Reports go straight to our team. We remove violating content and remove the people who post it within 24 hours.
How do I block someone?
Open their profile, tap the menu, and choose Block. They disappear from your feeds, search, and course pages immediately. You can unblock from the same menu later.
Your account and data
How do I delete my account?
Profile tab, then the settings gear, then Edit Profile, then "Delete my account" at the bottom. It's permanent: your profile, entries, follows, and photos are removed and can't be recovered.
What data do you collect?
Only what you'd expect: your email for sign-in, plus whatever you choose to add (name, username, photo, the courses you log). The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
