Using Fairways

Fairways is a free app for tracking and ranking golf courses you've played. You can use it as long as you don't break these rules. We may change these terms over time, and we'll update the effective date when we do.

Your account

You need a Fairways account to log courses, follow other golfers, and contribute to the community. You're responsible for what happens with your account. Keep your email secure and don't share it. We may suspend accounts that abuse the platform.

What you post

You own the photos, ratings, and notes you upload. By posting them on Fairways, you give us permission to display them in the app: on your profile, on course pages, and in the community feed. If you delete a post, we delete it. If you delete your account, we delete all of it.

You can only upload content that you have the right to share. That means your own photos, or photos you have permission to use. Don't upload images you grabbed from a course's website, another golfer's social feed, or anywhere else without their permission.

Copyright and DMCA

Fairways respects intellectual property. If you believe content on Fairways infringes your copyright, you can submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The full procedure, required notice elements, and our designated agent's contact info are on our DMCA page. We respond to properly submitted notices and remove infringing content promptly.

We will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers.

Objectionable content and abusive users

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior on Fairways. That includes harassment, spam, fake accounts, impersonation, content you don't have the right to share, and anything illegal, sexually explicit, or hateful.

Every photo, profile, and note can be reported from inside the app, and you can block any user so their content disappears from your feeds, search, and course pages. We review reports and remove violating content, and eject the users who post it, within 24 hours.

What's ours

The Fairways name, brand, design, and code belong to us. Editorial content and curated lists belong to us. You can screenshot and share your own profile or any course page (that's encouraged). You can't copy or reuse our content commercially without permission.

No warranties

Fairways is provided "as is." We do our best to keep the app working and your data safe, but we can't promise it'll be perfect. If course ratings, photos, or other content turn out to be inaccurate, we're not liable. Always verify tee times and course access directly with the course before traveling.

Ending things

You can delete your account anytime from Edit Profile. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. After deletion, your data is removed permanently and we can't recover it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
